[ You step through the portal into a place where black coats your vision— a solid, glossy coating of darkness that blocks out all light. For a moment, it is as though you've been been blindfolded, and all light is lost from your reach.

The light does not return.

But colors, in impossible neon hues hew through the dark and spangle newly across your vision. The city is drenched in kaleidoscopic light, the skyscrapers spiral to the heavens. At street level, it is Tokyo. Above that, stars move out of their orbits in dizzying motions. Other forms crowd the street with you— shiloettes of people drained of all their colors like it's bled into the city instead move about, not quite tangible but still giving off body heat. Monochrome figures also move through the crowd, a few demons, and

One demon that maybe some of you will recognize? Or not?

There's a girl with big puffy pigtails in full color with a bag full of groceries slung across her shoulder, heading somewhere. ]

Ah, I didn't want to see anyone else get hurt. So I wanted to help with clean up.

That's awfully sweet of you. Yeah, it kind of...really became a mess out there. I was hoping to figure out just what caused all this.

I was trying to summon my familiar. That is, I'm a type of exorcist known as a tamer.

I know what a familiar is but what does being a tamer entail?

Back home I can summon and command demons.

Ohhh, so do you think when you tried to summon your own demons, the imps instead answered the call? Or was it something else?

That's what I'm trying to find out.

Why'd you try to summon them? I can think of a few reasons, but I'm curious when most of the powers people have don't seem to work.

All reward has some level of risk. I wanted to see if I could help everyone.

I get it, especially since the magic that seems to be working has been mostly? Helpful. But I imagine some people might be upset with you if they found out. I wonder why it turned out that way though, but I guess we're both here to find that out.
